Eugene, Oregon, to host 2028 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials

Eugene, Oregon, will host the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials for a sixth consecutive time in 2028. The meet at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon will be June 17-22, ahead of the first Summer Olympics to be held in the U.S. since 1996 in Los Angeles, which open July 14, 2028. Traditionally at trials, the top three finishers in most events qualify for the Olympic team. Eugene previously hosted track and field trials in 1972, 1976, 1980, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2021 and 2024. Hayward Field also hosted the World Championships in 2022, the World U20 Championships earlier this month and will again host the USA Track and Field Outdoor and Para National Championships in 2027. 2028 U.S. Olympic Trials Schedule* Marathon: March 25, St. Louis Gymnastics: June 16-19, Louisville Track and Field: June 17-22, Eugene, Oregon Swimming: June (specific days TBA), Indianapolis *More sports’ trials still to be announced.
