Celtic or Rangers transfer ‘increasingly remote’ - Agreement with Ibrox club trashed

The future of Frosinone’s Fares Ghedjemis continues to be under discussion, with Celtic and Rangers competing for his signature. More clarity is now emerging about the winger.
Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered that the Ibrox club put forward €10m for the Algerian’s signature. This Rangers offer was promptly rejected by Frosinone. It came only days after an offer of €6m from Celtic met the same fate.
Luca Bendoni clarified the Italian side demand a figure of €15m to consider Ghedjemis’ sale. They see him as a key part of their project, with the player having helped them seal promotion to Serie A last season.
Chances of deal reducing
FrosinoneToday report that Ghedjemis is the most sought-after player in the newly promoted Serie A club’s squad. They hold a belief that he will not move this summer and it will take something special from Rangers and Celtic at this point.
As a result, the idea of him moving to Scotland ‘appears increasingly remote’.
The outlet also trash a rumour from England which has suggested that Rangers have had a fee of €11m plus bonuses of €3m accepted by Frosinone. This is denied and it is reiterated bids from both Rangers and Celtic have been rejected ‘without any particular hesitation’.

Frosinone are very comfortable in their position and won’t accept anything below €15m. That is a threshold which no club in Scotland or elsewhere has reached yet.
Our take: Deal indeed looking difficult
Frosinone’s stance has only been strengthened by their promotion to Serie A. With the player’s contract running out in 2028, it gives them significant control over his situation right now.
Besides, Ghedjemis is only 23 and one good season in Serie A will add further to his reputation. It will help him attract clubs in Italy or in the Premier League, who will be able to pay more than Celtic or Rangers.
