The Dallas Cowboys made a move to try and upgrade their defense. It wasn’t some big trade that Jerry Jones seemed to be hinting at a few weeks ago, but it is a big name.
Grade the Cowboys signing of free agent Von Miller
Vote in our survey to grade the Von Miller signing.
Dallas has brought in OLB/pass-rusher Von Miller on a one-year contract for $5.5 million, with a max of $7.5 million. Miller is a Texas native and returns home.
The Cowboys are unveiling their new-look 3-4 base defense with Rashan Gary and Donovan Ezeiruaku expected to start at OLB, with Malachi Lawrence certainly in the mix. You would expect Miller to be a pass-rush specialist as they won’t want to wear him out at the age of 37.
So how would you grade this signing?
A - If you’re voting here, you are believing in the miraculous job Miller pulled off last year with nine sacks for the Commanders. The ageless one would have topped the Cowboys sack leaderboard by half a sack over Jadeveon Clowney.
B - In spot duty, you believe he can help and you don’t mind the mentoring he would do for Ezeiruaku and Lawrence.
C - Meh. His age worries you and don’t think this will really move the needle much on the pass rush.
D - You’re thinking the team should be dreaming bigger and this move is a progress-stopper for some of the younger guys. His age will catch up to him this year.
F - You really hate the Cowboys or Miller for some reason. I mean, it is only a one-year deal for relatively small money.
Okay, vote in the poll and then hit the comments and let us know your reason (not mine) for voting like you did.
