Burnley's goalkeeper transfer plans laid out after Ben Amos arrival Burnley eyeing another goalkeeper signing despite Amos deal Nicky Hayen has confirmed Burnley remain in the market for another goalkeeper despite this week’s signing of Ben Amos. The Clarets secured some much-needed bolstering to their goalkeeping department with the free transfer of 36-year-old Amos on Wednesday. Having been let go by Port Vale at the end of last season, the experienced Englishman is expected to fulfil the number three role at Turf Moor and help Burnley reach their homegrown requirements. But now the Clarets remain on the lookout for another stopper who can help provide serious competition for Max Weiss, who - prior to Amos’ arrival - was the only ‘senior’ goalkeeper on the books. When asked if Burnley are looking to sign another keeper, Hayen said: “Correct. We’re looking. “Ben knows his role. What we said, we wanted a senior player who can also play games who protects the culture of the club and also knows the environment. “But we're also looking for a second goalkeeper who can compete with Max to keep his high standard. We need competition in the selection so that we push ourselves to the best level.” Subscribe now for HALF PRICE and catch every minute of our Clarets coverage this season - from pre-season to the final whistle. Click here It comes as Burnley have been linked with a move for Cercle Brugge goalkeeper Maxime Delanghe in recent days. Last season’s number one, Martin Dubravka, has since moved on to sign for Tottenham after coming to the end of his one-year deal, while Vaclav Hladky also departed as a free agent at the end of last season. As for Weiss, he started the last three games of last season’s campaign in the Premier League after Burnley’s relegation had been confirmed. Aged only 22, Weiss is relatively young for a goalkeeper and doesn’t have a huge amount of experience under his belt. While his displays were mixed during pre-season, the German produced a couple of excellent stops during the final friendly against Torino to remind Burnley fans of his talent. “Max is a solid goalkeeper,” Hayen said. “You saw his saves also against Torino. “He's quite comfortable on the ball. This is also necessary in the way how we want to play. I'm quite satisfied about this level at the moment.”
