Tottenham raise €130m+ in player sales. Tottenham Hotspur have raised a total of £133.2m through player sales this summer, according to Hotspur Lane. Luka Vuskovic’s departure represents the single biggest fee among the outgoings, with Radu Dragusin, Alejo Veliz, Alfie Devine, Yves Bissouma, Tynan Thompson and Will Lankshear all also having left the building, the last of those departures, to Middlesbrough, worth around £20m including add-ons. Tottenham have committed more than £237m to Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke alone this summer, alongside free transfers for Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka, spending that would look reckless in isolation for a club that recorded a pre-tax loss of £128m in the 2024-25 financial year and needed a £100m injection from ENIC just to keep the bills paid. Selling this aggressively alongside that outlay is not incidental, it is the entire mechanism that makes the spending sustainable, particularly with the Premier League’s incoming Squad Cost Ratio rules set to cap what clubs can spend on wages, transfers and agent fees at 85 per cent of revenue from next season. What makes this genuinely encouraging rather than merely necessary is the quality of the players who left the club. None of Vuskovic, Dragusin, Veliz, Devine, Bissouma or Thompson were realistically part of De Zerbi’s plans for the season ahead, so this has not been a case of selling left, right and centre. Their combined total appearances for Tottenham in competitive fixtures are less than 70, with Dragusin accounting for 48 of them. There is more to come, too. Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, Djed Spence, Richarlison and Lucas Bergvall are all still in contention to leave before deadline day, and even a handful of those going through would push the total significantly higher and further reduce the net outlay for a summer that has already been the most transformative in years.
