Tottenham Hotspur‘s Conor Gallagher could be set for a quick exit, after joining the Premier League side in January.
The Chelsea graduate spent his entire career in England before moving to Atlético Madrid in 2024. He failed to impress in Madrid after early fanfare, and the Spanish media were critical of his time in La Liga.
Tottenham opened their door in January, and the midfielder made 16 Premier League appearances.
Approach made for Tottenham man
The 26-year-old could leave the north London club quickly, as Beşiktaş have made an attempt to sign him this summer.
That’s according to Sözcü Gazetesi, who cover their efforts to bring Conor Gallagher to Turkey.
Beşiktaş manager Vincenzo Italiano wants to improve his midfield and has specifically requested the Black Eagles sign the Surrey-born player.
The manager seems to be a fan of the Tottenham Hotspur player, as he’s keen on adding him to his squad.
Beşiktaş submit offer
In order to please their manager, the Turkish club have made a loan offer to sign Conor Gallagher.
The Istanbul-based newspaper says this is a ‘surprise move’ and doesn’t clarify whether they made this offer to Spurs, the player or both.
| Premier League 2025/26 | | | | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Appearances | 18 | | | |
| Started | 14 | | | |
| Minutes per game | 75 | | | |
| Total minutes played | 1196 | | | |
| Goals | 1 | | | |

Beşiktaş are waiting for a response, and Sözcü makes no mention whether the player or Tottenham Hotspur are open for a loan move.
The former Blues man’s contract is until 2031 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is now €32m.
Our take: Loan move could be beneficial
Roberto De Zerbi has more options in midfield following Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali’s arrivals this summer.
The duo join Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Pape Matar Sarr as the recognised midfielders.
Tottenham Hotspur will only compete in the domestic competitions next season, meaning there won’t be enough matches for De Zerbi to rotate players.
There’s no clarity on the type of role Gallagher will have under De Zerbi next season. If he’s not part of the manager’s core plans, it would be ideal for him to go out on loan.
