Newcastle United sent Felix Nmecha statement as offer 'prepared' and £16m star targeted
Newcastle United are being linked with several incoming transfers as they look for a replacement for Bruno Guimaraes.
Matthias Jaissle is just a few days into his Newcastle United tenure and has made a positive first impression with the squad out in La Manga. The German head coach has very little time to bolster his Magpies squad before the Premier League curtain raiser against Liverpool later this month.
With the departures of Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon, Newcastle will have a new-look squad for that curtain-raiser against Andoni Iraola's squad.
The Toon have signed Bazoumana Traore as a replacement for Gordon, while Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba have come in to fill the void left by Tonali.

Now, all eyes are on what the club will do to fill the huge gap in the squad left by Guimaraes, following his move to Arsenal.
With that in mind, Chronicle Live has taken a look at all the latest Newcastle United transfer news and speculation.
Newcastle 'prepare offer' for Felix Nmecha
Sky Sports claims Newcastle United are preparing an offer for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, though the Magpies have been sent a clear warning from new sporting director Ole Book.
The Dortmund transfer chief says the Bundesliga side will only listen to offers in excess of £85.7m for the German international.
When asked about Nmecha leaving Dortmund this summer, Book told Sky Sports: "I would consider that extremely unlikely. Of course, astronomical sums are always theoretically possible, but I think I can pretty much rule that out with Felix Nmecha this summer."

ChronicleLive says: "This seems like an absolute non-starter. Newcastle aren't going to spend more money on a player to replace Bruno Guimaraes, than the actual transfer fee they got from Arsenal.
"The Brazilian is deemed a better player that Nmecha, so the German club's asking price seems ridiculous. The Magpies have already shown they're looking to unearth hidden gems and better value in the transfer market, so spending in excess of £85.7m is out of the question."
Newcastle and Aston Villa eye Spanish star
The Daily Mail claims Newcastle United and Aston Villa are keeping a close eye on Racing Santander defender Jorge Salinas.
The 19-year-old, who can play in the heart of defender or at left back, has also caught the eye of Barcelona and Manchester United scouts.
The defender has a reported £13.7million release clause, with Barcelona's £5m bid swiftly rejected earlier this summer.
It's unclear whether the Magpies or Villa are plotting a move for the defender this month, or whether they view him as one for the future.
ChronicleLive says: "This certainly seems a more likely transfer rumour, with the 19-year-old one of Europe's up and coming stars. Newcastle need to add to the squad at left-back, with Lewis Hall the only out-and-out defender.
"Dan Hall can also play at full-back, but his best performances in a Newcastle shirt have come in the heart of defence."
