How much prize money can Brighton earn in the 2026-27 Uefa Conference League
Tromso vs Brighton: 2026-27 Uefa Conference League first leg play-off - Thursday, 6pm
Brighton start their Uefa Conference League campaign this Thursday in Tromso.
The Seagulls qualified for Europe's third tier competition thanks to last season's eighth-placed finish in the Premier League.
Brighton travel to Tromso to play on their artificial pitch at a ground located 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle in the first leg of their Conference League play-off.
The second leg will be at the Amex Stadium on August 27 and should Brighton advance, they will then enter the Conference League group stages that start in October.
Premier League rivals West Ham, Chelsea and Crystal Palace have all won the Conference League in recent seasons and Brighton will be confident of going deep into the tournament as well, if they can advance beyond Tromso.
Conference League prize money
So how much could Brighton earn from their upcoming European adventures?
Last season Crystal Palace received a total of around £15m for winning the Uefa Conference League - and prize money is expected to be similar for the 2026-27 campaign.
Here’s the break down based on last year’s figures.
Brighton will receive around 175,000 euros (£152,000) if they win the play-off round against Tromso and a further 3.17m euros (£2.75m) for getting to the league phase.
Last season, Palace contested six league phase matches, winning three and drawing one. That reportedly earned the club 1.333m euros (£1.16m). A victory in the group pays around €400,000 (£342,000) and a draw €133,000 (£114,000).
Teams which placed in the top eight of the league phase earned €400,000 (£342,000) and progressed automatically to the Round of 16.
Teams which placed between ninth and 24th qualified for the knockout round play-offs and earned €200,000.
Reaching the knock-out stage triggered additional bonuses: €800,000 for the round of 16, €1,300,000 for the quarter-finals and €2,500,000 for the semi-finals.
The losing finalists received €4,000,000 and the champions received €7,000,000 (£6.1m).
Uefa Conference League key dates
Should the Seagulls advance in the play-off, the draw for the league phase is on August 28.

Knockout phase playoffs: Draw 15 January; first leg 18 February; second leg 25 February.
Round of 16: Draw 26 February (and for all subsequent rounds); first leg 11 March; second leg 18 March.
Quarter-finals: first leg 8 April; second leg 15 April.
Semi-finals: first leg 29 April; second leg 6 May.
Final: 2 June.
Bart Verbruggen: Tricky Tromso
Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen is looking forward to Albion’s European campaign - just the second in the club’s history - but feels Tromso will be a tricky play-off opponent.
“They are only seven points behind Bodo Glimt, and we all saw last season what they can do in the Champions League," said the Dutch international.
"It's really important for us to be very sharp and to show our best performance. If we continue to build on what we've shown this pre-season, then we have the quality to beat everyone.
“We have to be convinced of our own qualities, but it's definitely going to be a tough game. I've grown up on artificial surfaces, so for me it's fine. It will be a little bit different.
“But again, we have good enough players that will know how to adapt.”
