Crystal Palace have officially informed Fenerbahçe Jayden Oosterwolde that they intend to make a move for him this summer. Fener Ajans relay information from journalist Doruk Tecimer today. He reports that AS Roma and Crystal Palace have officially informed the player’s camp of their desire to sign the defender. Formal bid expected According to the information, both clubs are expected to submit formal offers to Fenerbahçe for the 25-year-old soon. The two sides face competition from Spanish and French clubs. He says that interest is coming from ‘specifically those at the top of the table’ but the player’s priority is not La Liga or Ligue 1. That should give Crystal Palace an advantage if they push forward with a bid as expected. The Eagles are on the hunt for a new centre-back following Maxence Lacroix’s departure to Chelsea. They had been targeting a deal for Augsburg’s Chrislain Matsima, but Sport Witness covered a report yesterday stating that talks for him had been abruptly ended. Palace had reportedly growing frustrated with the German side’s transfer demands. That same report insisted that Crystal Palace had already identified an alternative target. Whether that is Oosterwolde, remains to be seen. Crystal Palace interest in Jayden Oosterwolde The Fenerbahçe defender is currently rated at €20m by the likes of Transfermarkt. So, any deal is likely to be valued at the same sums they were being quoted by Augsburg for Matsima. The defender joined Fenerbahçe from Parma in a €6m deal in 2023 and has been a regular for them since. He has regularly been linked with a move to the Premier League and Crystal Palace in the intervening years. Indeed, a report back in March stated that Crystal Palace were looking at the defender in a potential €20m deal. Now it appears that they’re ready to make a bid to try and sign the defender this summer.
