Fenerbahce are ready to place another bid for Rafael Leao in the hopes of finally getting the green light from AC Milan. According to Calciomercato.com, the Leao soap opera will come to life on Monday 3 August when Fenerbahce will deliver a new official offer to Milan to try and land the Portuguese star. Milan are still asking for €60m for Leao, but the market is currently very cold on those figures. Consequently, they have confirmed the possibility of ‘settling’ for €50m to let the winger go, but it must be a permanent deal. Second bid incoming Fenerbahce submitted an initial offer of a loan with an option to buy for €40m, which was rejected, Today, they will present their new proposal of €45-46m and on a permanent basis, figures very close to the asking price. The inclusion of a few bonuses could be sufficient to get approval. The Turkish club presented Jorge Mendes with an offer for Leao of a four-year contract worth €8m net per season plus €2m in bonuses. It is much higher than what he currently earns in Milan, yet the Portuguese has not yet accepted. The motivation, more than financial, is technical: Leao is unsure about accepting the move because Fenerbahce are not yet certain of playing in next year’s Champions League.
