Nico Elvedi arrived in the UK on Monday to complete his imminent move to Elland Road in a reported £8.5m deal. The experienced Swiss international, who featured in all of his country's matches as they reached the quarter-finals of this summer's World Cup, is undergoing his medical after Borussia Monchengladbach accepted an offer worth an initial £6.8m, with a further £1.7m in add-ons, for the central defender. His arrival paves the way for Sebastiaan Bornauw’s departure to Hamburg in a reported initial loan deal with an option to buy. The Belgium international reportedly flew to Germany on Sunday ahead of his own medical. Goalkeeper Lucas Perri is also on the verge of completing his move to Torino. The Brazilian will reportedly join the Italian club on loan with a small fee and an option to buy for around £12m. As such, Leeds may turn their attention to signing another back-up goalkeeper before the window shuts, with only Alex Cairns remaining as a deputy to Trafford. Another player who could be heading for the exit door at Elland Road is Joel Piroe. According to talkSPORT, West Ham United are exploring a potential move to sign the forward, though Elland Road sources have outlined that claims of discussions being advanced are inaccurate at this stage. Piroe only played 15 minutes of football in United’s last four friendlies. The player’s agent, Theo Roebbers, released a statement to The Athletic on Saturday stating that if an exit resolution is not found this summer, Leeds “need never call me again”. Looking ahead to the final days of the window next week, Leeds are expected to sign a central midfielder and a forward to serve as a deputy to Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Nelson Deossa and Yunus Musah are two box-to-box players being linked with an Elland Road switch, but neither transfer is currently at a serious stage. In terms of forwards, Leeds have a slight interest in Eredivisie Golden Boot winner Ayase Ueda. However, Feyenoord’s £26m asking price for the Japan star could be a stumbling block. Brazilian winger Igor Paixao has also been on Leeds' radar as they look to add wide attacking talent, but negotiations remain complex. Rafael Leao has emerged as a more speculative target, with the winger’s £46m price tag and wage demands meaning a deal would be very hard to pull off, while the club would also ideally like to sign another full-back.
