Rafael Leao’s future continues to be the subject of intense discussion, with Matteo Moretto giving another update.
After weeks of talk about where Leao would end up rather than if he will leave Milan, things have changed in the past few days. Firstly Sky spoke of his departure as no longer being a foregone conclusion, despite the interviews he gave before the World Cup stating a desire to leave.

Then, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday morning that the winger wants to prove himself to Ruben Amorim and earn a stay at Milan. However, later in the day MilanNews suggested Leao would still evaluate an offer from Galatasaray, thanks to the Victor Osimhen factor.
‘Willing to offer the player something significant’
Moretto spoke on a YouTube channel about Leao’s fate and he revealed that Galatasaray are accelerating their attempts to try and land him, after Fenerbahce tried and have so far failed.
“What we’re seeing is the relationship between Amorim and Leao. The Milan coach is making Rafa feel important. The two speak often, having held numerous discussions, and Milan are working on it and is considering bringing Leao on in the near future,” he said (via MilanNews).
“What’s new, however, is that the transfer market hasn’t closed for Leao. On the contrary, one club has significantly increased their pressure, and that’s Galatasaray. The Turkish club are willing to offer the player something significant in terms of salary: we’ll see if the situation can evolve.
“Leao has said he wants to leave, Milan knows it and values him at €50-60m, but the truth is that there are no offers. There must be opportunities and conditions. Then now it’s the game of parts to say that Leao is happy and motivated at Milan as Amorim did, but it must be said that it is true that Leao is happy and motivated to stay at the Rossoneri.
“Obviously the transfer market and any offers that arrive will influence this situation, but Leao remains on the way out. Turkey isn’t a priority for Leao right now, but it could become one if they were to offer him a huge salary.
“We’ll see if those kinds of offers come in, and we’ll also see if there are offers that will satisfy Milan, who value Leao at €50-60m. We’ll see if there are any clubs willing to put those figures on the table.”
