Liverpool are keen on Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola and have been working on signing him for several weeks.
Last month, we relayed news the forward has reached an agreement in principle for personal terms. However, the two clubs are yet to come to an understanding.
On August 6th, Sport Witness covered claims from France that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi could start direct talks with Fenway Group.
The Ligue 1 winners want at least €150m for the France international while the Reds are refusing to meet this high price.
Liverpool in contact
Jeunes Footeux explain the 23-year-old has agreed on personal terms with Andoni Raiola’s side. However, the latter haven’t found an agreement with the Champions League winners.
The Paris club have been firm with their €150m price for Bradley Barcola, who prefers to play on the left wing. He can also operate as a right winger and a striker.
This summer, Luis Enrique’s side have strengthened their attack by signing Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche, Mika Godts and Khalil Ayari.
This comes at a time when the Liverpool target could be on his way out. The Reds haven’t given up on him and are in contact with the Paris club.
PSG soften stance
After initially demanding €150m, the report states the French champions have lowered the price.
They are willing to listen to offers for Bradley Barcola between €130m and €140m.
The ‘small gesture’ should please Liverpool, who can make advances to sign Barcola this summer.
Whether the Reds are willing to make an offer of at least €130m is unclear. Last season, the attacker managed 13 goals and seven assists from 43 matches.
