Story of The Match The visitors came really close to taking the lead within the first seven minutes with a fantastic effort towards goal from Gaby Jimenez, forcing Dan Bentley to produce an excellent save to tip the ball over the goal. It didn't take long for Wolves to take the lead when, in the 19th minute, Fer Lopez delivered an incredible finish into the top right corner. Only a minute later, Wolves tried for a second. Armstrong again on the edge of the box, however his effort went over the bar once again. Mateus Mane had a great opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet after a great cross from Rodrigo Gomes; once again, unfortunately for Mane, his volley went high and wide. Another chance for Wolves as they hunted for a second goal before the half-time break. This time Gomes had his chance after some fantastic build-up play from the hosts, as Kieran Tripper played a through ball to Rodrigo Gomes, but his effort was fired well over the bar. The second goal before the break that the hosts were searching for never came. Wolves entered the break with a lead of 1-0. Second Half at Molineux A slower start to the second half, with both teams having very similar possession of the ball, but also both teams not creating a lot of chances. Hugo Bueno hunted for a second goal for Wolves. A great effort from the number three, but his effort was just wide. Bueno made it two as he skipped past one, jumped over another while still having control of the ball, before he slotted it into the bottom corner, adding another one to the lead. The Old Gold found a third goal after an excellent corner produced by Kieran Tripper. Yerson Mosquera did a fantastic job of attacking the ball and headed it into the back of the net. With three minutes left of the match, Gomes ran toward goal with a lovely bit of skill, however it wasn't enough to reach a player at the back post, with the cross played straight into the hands of Simon Eriksson. Wolves end their pre-season with a win over Racing Santander as they look forward to their next game in the Carabao Cup against Port Vale before kicking off the Championship season ahead.
