Celtic reportedly remain well placed in the race for Las Palmas goalkeeper Dinko Horkas, but no formal offer has yet been submitted.
Spanish outlet Sport reports that the Hoops are currently the club best positioned to sign the 27-year-old, although they are not alone in showing interest.
Sevilla, Olympiacos and Hull City are also said to be monitoring the Croatian, while Celtic are believed to view him as one of the leading options on their goalkeeper shortlist.
Our source also indicated that Las Palmas are currently speaking with several clubs over the player’s future.
That means the interest is real, but this is not yet at an advanced stage.
Horkas has a €30million release clause in his contract, although Sport suggest negotiations for a sale would be more likely to begin at around €10million.
That figure remains the main issue for Celtic.
Horkas still has two years left on his deal, which puts Las Palmas in a strong position. They are under no immediate pressure to sell and can afford to wait for an offer that matches their valuation.
Transfermarkt currently values the goalkeeper at around €5million, but Las Palmas are clearly looking for much more than that before considering a deal.
Sport also notes that Celtic have other goalkeepers under consideration, although Horkas is currently viewed as their preferred option.
That does not mean a move is close. It does, however, suggest the Croatian remains high on the list as Celtic assess their next step.
Las Palmas have publicly stated that no official offers have arrived, which matches the private guidance given to CeltsAreHere.
For now, the position is clear. Celtic have shown interest and appear to be in a strong place if they decide to act, but the €10million level being discussed could prove a major hurdle.
Until a formal bid is made, Horkas remains one of several options rather than a deal moving towards completion.
