Celtic 'set to finalise another huge signing' after Kasper Hogh as another attacking transfer deal nears Celtic are beginning to accelerate their summer transfer plans. Celtic are reportedly on the verge of their next big signing with striker Kasper Hogh almost a done deal. Saturday proved to be a day of contrasting emotions on the transfer front for boss Martin O’Neill. Just as the Premiership champions were confirmed to have lost talisman of recent years Daizen Maeda to Ipswich Town, the Hoops gaffer confirmed a move for Bodo Glimt’s frontman is likely, for a reported club-record fee. Now there could be more additions beyond Hogh ahead of the league season beginning versus Dundee. Haissem Hassan shone at the World Cup out wide for Egypt and the Real Oviedo man now has mounting transfer interest. Celtic are one of the sides said to have most interest and journalist George Tsarouchas claims a deal is almost there with the Spanish club ready to give a deal their blessing. Hassan has agreed upon a four-year deal. Who will be the next Celtic signing after Kasper Hogh? Taking to X, Tsarouchas said: “After Hogh, Celtic FC set to finalise another huge signing with Haissem Hassan. Egyptian star has accepted the offer from Celtic for a 4-years contract and Real Oviedo also ready to give permission. There are some bonus that are still under negotiation.” Speaking after Saturday’s friendly draw with AC Milan on Hogh, additions beyond that and Maeda’s exit to the Premier League, O’Neill said: “Without going too deeply into it, that’s the calibre of player that we’d be looking for, who has scored goals in the Champions League. I’m hoping that players coming into the football club who are of some sort of substance, I think that would be the exciting thing for fans. “For most of the time that I was here last season, we struggled to score goals. Maeda came up brilliantly for us in the last six or seven weeks of the season, but we didn’t have that recognised striker. So that would be a big plus for us if we can do that. “It’s quality that we’ll probably be looking for, and quality at affordable prices is at a real premium. We’ve got a few other things in the pipeline that might come to fruition, which would be great for us. I’ve got good faith in the people being able to get the players in. Martin O’Neill on Daizen Maeda joining Ipswich Town “Naturally, I will miss Daizen. He was in his last year of his contract. Before I came here, the club made him a real big offer, in our terms, at least 16 months ago. And the lad refused to do it in the sense that he wanted to play in the Premier League if he could, or the Bundesliga. “So I will obviously miss him, but I’m delighted for him at the same time, genuinely delighted for him. He deserves the move because he’s been fantastic for the club. We will miss his presence around about the place and Ipswich will be getting somebody that they will grow to really like.”
