Why Everton won't re-sign Jack Grealish again after what David Moyes has done Jack Grealish is now unlikely to sign for Everton again. It's not the news that fans at Hill Dickinson Stadium wanted, as the winger returns to fitness. Enzo Maresca used Grealish off the bench on Sunday as Manchester City lost 3-0 to Arsenal in the Community Shield in Cardiff. It was a first taste of competitive action in almost seven months, after the foot injury that ended his season early in Merseyside. Grealish became a fan favourite at Everton under David Moyes, who often shared his love for the winger publically. But, that stands for nothing now with a move unlikely. Why won't Everton move for Jack Grealish? This has been the news that all Everton fans have been dreading. Jack Gaughan has reported that Man City are still waiting for a permanent buyer, but that is unlikely the Toffees. Writing in the print edition of the Daily Mail on Monday, he states that Everton are "shying" away after Moyes spent time working with him consistently. With other interested Premier League clubs having other priorities for now, Grealish's future is unlikely to be solved until later in the window. Do Everton need Jack Grealish? It's hard to predict right now, with injuries a possibility at all times, as seen heavily last season. Moyes has four wingers available to him; Tyrique George, Iliman Ndiaye, Tyler Dibling and new signing, Brennan Johnson. The latter three can play in other positions and more centrally, but four wingers is usually enough in the Premier League. Unless Moyes is plotting on a change of system to play more of his attackers centrally, Grealish isn't really needed. And with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall already in that space, that closes down the need for the Man City star even further. But, everyone knows the class of Grealish. When he is at the top of his game, there aren't many like him in the Premier League. With another few weeks of fitness likely needed, he could hit top form after the first international break of the season, wherever he is playing. Everton look to be playing it slow and smart, but right now, Grealish looks set to be heading elsewhere.
