Haissem Hassan to Celtic is ON as Oviedo set to bank 'significant' fee for wanted winger The Premiership champions have been chasing the World Cup star hard and and made breakthrough in negotiations with La Liga outfit Haissem Hassan is increasingly likely to join Celtic. The Egyptian winger has been strongly linked with the Hoops since starring for Egypt at the World Cup - with the initial link coming hours before he ripped it up against Argentina. Talks have been ongoing between the Premiership champions and Oviedo for a number of weeks, and now there appears to have been a breakthrough in recent days. Oviedo-based newspaper La Nuevo Espana claim that Celtic have ben pushing hard for Hassan and that he is now likely to make the move to Parkhead. They report that certain details still need to be ironed out, but discussions are generally heading in one direction and a deal is expected to be concluded soon. Celtic are keen to get things wrapped up before their crunch Champions League playoff round clash with LASK of Austria. And it's understood the fee to Oviedo will be significant. Sporting director David Fernandez has previously played hardball over Hassan, insisting that the Spanish club were in the driving seat and would seek the full £10million release clause included in the winger's contract. Recent reports suggested that Hassan was determined to force through a switch to French giants Marseille.
