Former Mansfield Town loanee makes permanent move to Falkirk Former Mansfield Town man Joe Gardner has signed for SPL side Falkirk. Gardner, who had been with Nottingham Forest for a decade, scored once for Stags during a 14 game spell last season. He was one of three Forest youth players to sign for Mansfield that season with his single goal coming in a 1–1 league draw against Stevenage on 13 September. Chris McGuane, Head of Academy at the City Ground, said: “Joe is undoubtedly an example of another success story from the Academy. From our youngest age group right through to a first team debut, he is a person we are extremely proud to have worked with over the years and someone who has always embodied the values of the club. “Joe is a very talented player, he is humble, he works hard, and we are all confident he will go on to have a successful career in the game.” The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international worked his way through the age groups at Forest’s Nigel Doughty Academy, making his debut for the first team in the FA Cup fourth round against Bristol City at the City Ground.
