Hearts lose Stuart Findlay red card appeal as new statement released The Jambos led 1-0 until the dying minutes when Lewis Mayo bundled in the equaliser before Findlay was sent off for denying Toyosi Olusanya a goal-scoring opportunity. Hearts have had their appeal to overturn the red card shown to Stuart Findlay in their 2-1 defeat to Aberdeen dismissed. The Jambos led 1-0 until the dying minutes when Lewis Mayo bundled in the equaliser before Findlay was given his marching orders for denying Toyosi Olusanya a goal-scoring opportunity in the 92nd minute. Kevin Nisbet then scored the resultant penalty to wrap up an opening day victory for the Dons and preserve their 10-year unbeaten streak at home against the Gorgie outfit. Earlier this week, Hearts released a statement venting their frustration at David Dickinson's decision to send the centre-back off, claiming he attempted to play the ball. They also demanded a review and claimed there had been a "near identical incident" in the 2-1 victory for Motherwell against Hibs on Sunday, which saw Oscar Preistman receive a yellow card. However, the decision has been upheld and Wouter Vrancken's side will now be without Findlay for their game on Sunday at home against Dundee United. The SFA confirmed: "Claim Dismissed. Original sanction of a red card for A4 – Denying the opposing team or an opponent a goal or an obvious goal scoring opportunity as defined by Law 12, is re-imposed with immediate effect. Payment of the £650 Appeal Deposit to be made within 30 days." A statement from Hearts read: "The club is disappointed to learn that our appeal against Stuart Findlay’s red card, awarded at Pittodrie on Saturday, has been dismissed. "Stuart will now be suspended for Sunday's Premiership match against Dundee United. The club will be making no further comment."
