Dimitar Mitov sees Aberdeen transfer exit accelerate as bounty of Euro sides target wanted goalkeeper The Bulgaria international is into the final year of his contract at Pittodrie and has a wealth of suitors on the continent Aberdeen keeper Dimitar Mitov has growing European interest. The Bulgarian international is on the radar of clubs from Germany, Denmark, Austria and Cyprus. Some of those clubs have already made official contact with the Dons. Their Scottish Cup hero is in the final year of his contract, although the club has an option to extend for another 12 months. The club and Mitov are open to the possibility of a move in this window, providing Aberdeen’s six-figure asking price is met. Stephen Robinson has already brought in Marius Muller and the German has been the Reds' No. 1 since he arrived from Wolfsburg. Robinson brought Muller in because there was interest in Mitov. The Aberdeen boss made it clear that he didn’t want to get short if an expected offer came in for the big keeper. Mitov has been in Scottish football for the last three seasons and is open to a fresh challenge. Aberdeen signed him from St Johnstone for £200,000 back in 2024. Mitov previously worked with Aberdeen goalkeeping coach Craig Hinchcliffe there. The keeper came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic and is keen to play at the highest level he can to help him in the fight to hold down the No. 1 position with the Bulgarian national team.
