Dave Rennie has shared a fitness update on his side ahead of the first test against the Springboks.
Rennie spoke to the media after the 50-19 win over the Bulls and the quotes were covered by the StraitsTimes.
Positive All Blacks news
So far on the Greatest Rivalry Tour we have yet to see Will Jordan and Cam Roigard. Both have been dealing with minor injuries in training. Roigard had pull out of the Sharks game after he suffered some back irritation.
Rennie has provided a positive update on the pair staying, “Will and Cam have come through a training session, so we are confident they will be fine. We just want them to have a full week of training,”
This is great news for All Blacks fans with Roigard and Jordan with both players being particularly important in attack to the visitors.
Potential worries for Dave Rennie
For Rennie there is one doubt and that is Damian McKenzie. Rennie commented, “We are less confident about Damian, but there is still a good chance he will be available. We are expecting all three of them to be available,”
McKenzie picked up an ankle injury early in the win over the Sharks and came off 30 minutes later with his boot heavily strapped.
Rennie did speak on the arrival of Richie Mo’unga saying, “We won’t pick him for the first Test, but we will give him some game time against the Lions on the following Tuesday.”
A lot of questions will be answered when Rennie announces his team on Thursday this week.
