Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Portuguese club AVS Futebol SAD are playing hardball over the sale of Tunde Akinsola, despite the former Nigeria U17 international having less than 11 months remaining on his contract. Relegated from the Primeira Liga at the end of last season, AVS have rejected offers from four different clubs: Blackburn Rovers, Cercle Brugge, Nantes and Le Havre. The aforementioned clubs have been taken aback by AVS's asking price, with the Liga Portugal 2 outfit seeking a fee of €2.5 million, as well as a 20 percent sell-on clause, in any deal for the winger. Blackburn Rovers saw an initial bid of €800,000 rejected and, despite increasing their offer to €850,000 (approximately N1.3 billion in Nigerian currency), their improved bid was also turned down. Ligue 2 club Nantes offered €500,000 plus a bonus payable if they secure promotion to Ligue 1 at the end of the 2026-2027 season, but AVS deemed the proposal insufficient. Belgian Pro League outfit Cercle Brugge also made an attempt to sign the 23-year-old, submitting an offer of €1.1 million plus €200,000 in achievable bonuses, only for their bid to be rebuffed. Real Valladolid, who are entitled to 40 percent of any future transfer fee, are also keen for Akinsola to be sold to secure a profit from the deal. The former Golden Eaglets star has made it clear that he has no interest in remaining at AVS beyond the close of the summer transfer window and has submitted a transfer request in an attempt to force through a move. A direct and skilful winger, Akinsola has been compared to AC Milan's Samuel Chukwueze because of his similar playing style, while his physicality is another key attribute. Ifeanyi Emmanuel
