Hibs v Hearts set for unusual slot as first Edinburgh derby of season moved for TV
Easter Road clash pushed back by 24 hours
The first Edinburgh derby of the season has been moved to a Thursday after being selected for live TV coverage.
The match between Hibs and Hearts at Easter Road was originally due to be played on Wednesday, September 2 at 7.45pm as part of a full Premiership card taking place that evening.
However, the fixture has been pushed back by 24 hours by the SPFL after being picked up by Premier Sports and will now take place on Thursday, September 3, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
It means the match will now take place on transfer deadline day in Scotland, which also falls on Thursday, September 3, with clubs having until 5pm to complete deals.
As a result, both club's Premiership fixtures the following weekend have also been moved from the Saturday to the Sunday.
Hibs will now travel to Perth to face St Johnstone on Sunday, September 6, for a 3pm kick-off in a match that will also be shown live on Premier Sports.
Hearts, meanwhile, will host Dundee in a 3pm kick-off the same day although that match has not been selected for TV coverage.
Premier Sports are also showing Hearts' Europa League third qualifying round first leg against Benfica in Lisbon on Thursday night while Hibs trip to Ibrox to face Rangers this Sunday will be broadcast on the subscription channel.
