Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has said that new Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca will have been "embarrassed" by his team's performance in their 3-0 Community Shield defeat to the Gunners. Mikel Arteta's side made a flying start as Riccardo Calafiori put them in front inside the first minute before Kai Havertz headed their second before the break. Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard added a third goal for the Premier League champions early in the second half as the Gunners cruised to the biggest Community Shield win since they beat City by the same score in 2014. Keown told TNT Sports: "Maresca will be embarrassed by that. I mean, it's his first real kind of public show in a proper game, and I think there'd be an element of embarrassment. He hasn't got a reaction at all has he?" Fellow pundit Joleon Lescott felt Keown's comments were over the top, but the former City defender agreed Maresca's side had been a clear second best. "I doubt he [Maresca] would be embarrassed," Lescott told TNT Sports. "He's only going to get that [reaction] in the coming weeks. "But I think embarrassment is probably too strong. I feel very disappointed because you know you don't want to lose any game. "You don't want to lose 3-0 to your arch rivals in regards to the title. So there'll be a lot of analysing this week and recognising what can we improve." Former Arsenal defender Keown said Arteta let the "handbrake off." adding: "The gap between the two teams -- it was quite stunning to see Man City's body language, the players, the manager, it looks a bit lifeless as a group. "It's very early days, of course, so we shouldn't look too much into it. McCoist added: "How much do we look into it? Well, I thought it was the biggest gap I've seen between the sides. "I know it was an opening game for the Community Shield, and the Premier League will provide sterner tests. I do understand that, but I would be slightly concerned if I was a City fan or Maresca."
