That means if any club agrees a fee to take Trafford from Leeds in years to come, City will be given the opportunity to match it. So, no buyback clause that many were fearing. He sets us up for years to come in goal and we’re finally planning long-term in that position. However, to avoid agreeing to a buyback clause is tremendous work. It means we don’t have to fear Man City simply buying him back in a couple of years when they feel like it. He’s ours for a while, unless someone fancies paying us an absurd sum.
