A Tottenham Hotspur player is edging close to an exit from the club after having played just four times since arriving in North London. Several senior players could leave Tottenham over the coming weeks, as the club continues rebuilding their squad ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s first full season in charge. Djed Spence and Cristian Romero are now on the verge of sealing their exits from Spurs, with the pair set to complete moves to Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, respectively. Another defender, who has only started twice for the North London club, is also nearing an exit. Porto in advanced talks to sign Tottenham’s Souza A few days ago, it was reported that Souza has been identified as a priority target by Porto, and it has now emerged that the left-back, who only arrived from Santos in January, is already on the verge of an exit. RTI Esporte reports that Porto have ‘made progress’ in their negotiations for the 20-year-old, having already agreed personal terms with the player. They are now in ‘advanced talks’ with Tottenham, having submitted a €20m (£17.4m) offer to the North London club. This is only slightly higher than the £13m Spurs paid for him back in January. Souza’s agent, Giuliano Bertolucci, is now in Portugal and is working on finalising his client’s move to the Portuguese club. This comes just weeks after it was reported that De Zerbi is Souza’s biggest supporter at Spurs. Former Spurs head coach overseeing Porto’s Souza deal Interestingly, Porto’s current president is Andra Villas-Boas, who spent 18 months as the North London club’s head coach after replacing Harry Redknapp in 2012. RTI Esporte say that Villas-Boas is now working to sign Souza from his former employers, with Porto seeing off competition from rivals Benfica to land the Brazilian. The outlet confirms what other sources have reported previously, revealing that Santos hold a 10 per cent sell-on clause on the left-back, which means they would be owed £1.7m from the fee Spurs receive for the defender.
