And as Carragher watched Arsenal run riot against City in the Community Shield on Sunday, the former Liverpool defender took to social media to send the Etihad club a message. He wrote: “Arsenal 3-0. Man City have to keep Rodri.” The Gunners took the lead when Riccardo Calafiori scored after just 24 seconds before Kai Havertz added a second just before the half-hour mark. New City boss Enzo Maresca brought on Jack Grealish at half-time, but Grealish could only watch as Martin Odegaard added a third for the Gunners three minutes after the restart. Speaking in his pre-Arsenal press conference, Maresca delivered an update on the Spaniard’s future, saying “anything can happen” as long as the transfer window is open. He said: “First of all, the transfer window is open. We can buy players, we can sell players, anything can happen. “I just saw Rodri now in the building, I gave him a big hug.
