Liverpool vs Como LIVE - team news, TV channel, kick-off time, score and commentary stream
Live coverage of Liverpool's final pre-season friendly as they play the second match in their double-header Como in a 6pm kick-off at Anfield
Welcome to our live coverage of Liverpool's final pre-season friendly as they take on Como for the second time today. Kick-off at Anfield is 6pm.
Earlier on this afternoon a strong Reds side played out a 0-0 draw with the Serie A outfit in a behind closed doors clash at the AXA Training Centre.
But now the focus is on a match that will be played in front of spectators as Liverpool, under new head coach Andoni Iraola, put the finishing touches to their preparations for the new Premier League campaign.
Paul Gorst, Ian Doyle and Theo Squires are at Anfield to bring you all the build up to the friendly, including team news when it drops, followed by an in-game commentary stream and the best post-match reaction and analysis.
Details of how you can watch the game can be found HERE.
Key Events
The Liverpool team is locked in.
Alisson; Frimpong, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch; Ngumoha, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak.
Subs: Davies, Ndiaye, Araujo, Munoz, Wright, Nyoni, Koumas.
Munoz, Nyoni and Koumas were involved in the first game, of course.
The big news this week at Liverpool, of course, is confirmation of the 30% sale of Amit Bhatia's consortium that features Jeff Bezos and Eduardo Saverin.
The group, which has been christened as 1892 Holdings, completed the deal, believed to be worth around £1.65billion, on Friday and there has been ample speculation about what it means for the club and the supporters.
And if you're looking for some more information about the move, how about this for a pre-match read?
It will be 16 years in October since John W Henry stood on the steps of London law firm Slaughter and May with a promise that he, as Liverpool's new principal owner, was "here to win".It was Friday October 15 2010, when Fenway Sports Group, then known as New England Sports Ventures, loosened the vice-like grip of the detested ownership duo of Tom Hicks and George Gillett, whose ruinous reign had left Anfield on the brink of administration. And as Henry and the rest of FSG get set to welcome on board a brand new set of investors, including some of the most powerful people on the planet, the Boston-based owners may conclude that they have in fact won. It's taken just over a decade-and-a-half for Liverpool, as a distressed asset, to go from being valued outright at £300m to seeing a £1.65billion investment for less than a third of the shares. In that regard, there is simply no other way to look at Henry's time in charge as anything other than a success.
Good day to everyone.
Should be an interesting game today with Liverpool a lot closer to what their team will be against Newcastle United.
Let's do this!
So what to do at centre-back today, then?
Half of that conundrum takes care of itself as Virgil van Dijk gets set to captain the side once more this pre-season.
However, does Ronald Araujo start following his loan move from Barcelona on Monday?
Or does Jeremy Jacquet, who hasn't played since February, feature from the start for his maiden appearance of the summer schedule?
It's been a real issue this one.
The new Liverpool head coach has written to supporters in the programme for tonight's match:
This will be a very good, and very important, test for us as we finalise our preparations for the new Premier League season.Despite the result, last weekend’s game against Monaco brought plenty of positives and plenty of learnings for myself and my staff. The first half, and the first 30 minutes in particular, was very pleasing. It was good to see Alexander Isak getting on the scoresheet and looking sharp, and I saw a lot of good things both with and without the ball. The problem we had, as we had against Leeds in Chicago, was that we were not able to sustain our levels and that is something that can only happen with time, and with a lot of hard work on the training ground.I have spoken many times about the type of team I want to see on the pitch, about the intensity, the intent and the energy we are looking for, and while it is clear that there is still a lot of improvement to come, I believe that we are moving in the right direction and I expect that to continue in the coming days and weeks as the season gets under way. With Alexis Mac Allister having returned to the AXA Training Centre on Monday, we now have all of our players back after the World Cup, which is of course hugely beneficial. There is no doubt in my mind about the quality and the potential we have within our squad, and now it is up to us to show that on a consistent basis going forward. From a personal perspective, I would like to thank you all for the wonderful reception I received last weekend. It meant a lot, and hopefully we can give you lots to enjoy and to shout about, both on Sunday and beyond.
Good afternoon and welcome to Anfield where Liverpool play their final pre-season friendly of the summer, against Como in what is the second time these clubs have met today.
In case you missed it earlier today, it finished goalless at the AXA Training Centre in the behind-closed-doors friendly this morning.
One thing we do know is that Andoni Iraola will have plenty of his big guns involved in this one tonight.
Alisson Becker, Freddie Woodman, Virgil van Dijk, Jeremy Jacquet, Ronald Araujo, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, Florian Wirtz, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Alexander Isak played no part in the 0-0 draw.
Some, like Kerkez, Sbozoszlai and Jones, were present at the AXA Training Centre, though, to cheer their team-mates on.
But expect all of those players to be involved this evening barring any unknown selection issues.
The impressive Victor Munoz came off 45 minutes into the behind closed doors encounter, along with Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa, so it would not be a surprise if they are named on the bench this evening.

The Reds take on Como in a 6pm kick-off at Anfield.
It will be the second match of the day between the sides. Earlier on, the Reds and their Italian counterparts played out at 0-0 draw behind closed doors at the AXA Training Centre.
We'll have more on that match in a moment.
But our main focus is the game that will be played in front of supporters and which will round off new head coach Andoni Iraola's first summer in charge of the Reds. It should be a good one.
Let's do this.
