Nico Elvedi is flying to the UK this evening to complete his transfer to Leeds United in the coming days, with Sebastiaan Bornauw heading to Hamburg. A loan agreement with the German club has been poised for some time but Leeds were keen to get a replacement through the door before green-lighting his exi. His departure has been instigated by the player's side. On Saturday, a deal with Borussia Monchengladbach centre-half Elvedi was reached. And, while staying cautious until all is sealed, Daniel Farke stated after the friendly with Augsburg that he expected movement in regards to the Swiss defender and Bornauw within the following 48 hours. Elvedi is set for a medical at Leeds in due course and his move is expected to be confirmed, more or less, in tandem with Bornauw’s departure. Bornauw - whose professionalism has been praised by Farke - started just five Premier League games after his £5million move from Wolfsburg last summer. Meanwhile, Lucas Perri is finally closing in on a loan to Torino. The move - long in the making - has been on pause while he recovers from a quad injury, so as to make his medical enrolment smoother. Now, contacts in Torino state the loan switch - which will contain an option to buy - is now moving into the advanced stages. Leeds will search for a new number two in his wake, with Paraguay World Cup shot-stopper Orlando Gill on the radar, albeit no formal advance has yet been made. Meanwhile, West Ham United have been in sporadic contact with Leeds over a potential deal for Joel Piroe across the summer. However, Elland Road sources have outlined that claims of discussions being advanced are inaccurate at this stage. Piroe only played 15 minutes of football in United’s last four friendlies. The player’s agent, Theo Roebbers, released a statement to the Athletic on Saturday stating that if an exit resolution is not found this summer, Leeds “need never call me again”. Piroe has a year left on his Leeds contract but with the option for another 12 months to be triggered.
