The visitors took just three attempts to win a Test in Australia, the second joint-fewest alongside South Africa. Only England did better, having taken just two attempts to win their first Test in Australia. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto looked at this victory as their biggest ever across formats. Bangladesh beat New Zealand, Mount Maunganui, 2022 The first great moment for Bangladesh’s ever-improving Test attack. Devon Conway’s 122 steered the hosts to 328, but four batters scored half-centuries to get Bangladesh a 130-run first-innings lead. Then Ebadot Hossain bowled arguably the greatest spell in Bangladesh history, taking 6-46 to skittle the hosts for 169. Shoriful Islam had taken three wickets in the first innings; in the second, Taskin Ahmed got three. Bangladesh won by eight wickets. 5. Bangladesh sweep Pakistan 2-0, 2024 Until this series, Bangladesh had never won a Test match against Pakistan. Now, they clean-swept the hosts at their den. The spinners shared seven wickets in third innings to bowl out Pakistan for 146 in first Test as Bangladesh won by 10 wickets. Pakistan made 274 and had Bangladesh at 26-6 in the second, but Litton Das’ 138 lifted them to 262. Hasan Mahmud (5-43) then bowled out Pakistan for 172, and Bangladesh won by six wickets. New Zealand sweep India 3-0, 2024 Topping the list for one of the most unexpected results in Test cricket, this series win was a complete shocker for most Test cricket fans. Having won 18 consecutive home series, India were not expected to end that streak against a team that had won only two Tests in the nation: they ended up not only losing the series but also getting clean-swept 0-3. In Bengaluru, India batted first in seam-friendly conditions, were bowled out for 46, and never recovered. In Nagpur, Mitchell Santner – who had never taken a Test four-wicket haul until then – took 13 wickets. And in Mumbai, they failed to chase 147 as Ajaz Patel finished with 11 wickets.
