Pre-season preparations are in full swing. Vítor Bruno’s squad spent the past week training at the Proximus Basecamp in Tubize, where they played a friendly against Dutch side NEC, winning 2-1. One final friendly follows on Wednesday before the Mauves face Hammarby IF in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The last friendly and the European qualifiers against Hammarby will be streamed live on Mauve TV. The road to the League Phase of the UEFA Europa League is a long one. The Mauves must overcome three qualifying rounds, starting with Swedish side Hammarby IF, currently second in the Allsvenskan after 12 matches. The first leg will be played in Stockholm on Thursday 23 July, with the return leg taking place a week later at the Lotto Park on Thursday 30 July. Before Sporting begin their European campaign, they will first play one last friendly on Wednesday (15 July at 18:30) away from home.
