Daniel Farke on the Leeds United players not in his plans with praise for young pair and more signings hope Daniel Farke on the Leeds United squad ahead of the new Premier League season. Daniel Farke says Largie Ramazani is among the Leeds United players not in his plans, the Whites boss praising two youngsters but with a note of caution and more signings hope. Farke’s side completed a very strong pre-season with Saturday’s 4-0 win at home to FC Augsburg in the club’s final friendly for which the Whites boss named 13 substitutes despite having key men out. Left back Gabi Gudmundsson is recovering from a muscular injury which has left him doubtful for the club’s Premier League opener at Nottingham Forest whilst winger Will Gnonto was also missing having suffered a hamstring injury in Wednesday night’s clash against Manchester United in Dublin. Leeds do not want to put a timescale on Gnonto’s return but it is hoped the Italian will be back soon. But even without Gnonto there was once again no place in the Leeds matchday squad for Belgian winger Ramazani who has returned to the club this summer following last season’s loan spell at Valencia. Farke, though, has made it clear that the players not featuring in pre-season are not in his plans which also appears to spell the end for Sam Byram whose Leeds contract expired this summer. Speaking after Saturday’s win against Augsburg, Farke was asked if there was anything he could say about Ramazani’s situation and where he sits and said: “ “No, so we make sure who is really in our plans for the next season and everyone who was in and is in our plans was with us during this [pre-season]. "And the players who won't play a part in next season, they were not involved with the first team, of course. “It's more like a different type of training then because we can't just have players without a special position or a special task in the group anyhow. "This would distract too much, and then there's more or less like talk in the dressing room about where do I go, or whatever. “I just want us to stay focused. We need this, and for that, Largie was not involved in our training or training games or with the games. "We'll see what the outcome in the solution in the end is. But all the players who were not involved with our group they are also not in plans for next season.” Assessing his thoughts on squad depth, Farke picked out young pair Callum Mills and Alfie Cresswell for praise but with a warning that it would be too much to rely on the young pair and that he hoped a few more quality additions would follow. Pressed if the team against Augsburg would be close to his starting line-up at Forest and how he was feeling generally going into the season, Farke said: “In the last games of pre-season they are getting more important. "There are no gifts at this stage and they have chances to be involved in the first game, definitely. "But we also have good competition. Also, I liked also the starting line-up against Red Bull Leipzig for example. “I also liked the players who came in today and had an impression so we need this competition and we need this squad depth and I'm very happy that some of our young players have chipped in also in a really good way. “Like Callum Mills has made a good impression, Alfie Cresswell looked sharp, but it would be a bit too much to ask them to rely on these young lads, 17 years Callum Mills. We have to build his physique. "But I like what I see, and I want to see what he [Mills] can do on this level. "But we have to make sure that we don't rely also too much on this small young shoulders, and for that, it would be good if we could add a few more additions and quality additions and we're working towards this to the end of August, and then we will see what we can do.”
