The academy graduate doesn’t look to be actively pushing for a move away from his boyhood club though, and it’s clear to see how much love he still has for the Reds even as his future comes under question. Jones was spotted showing his support for the Reds during the first friendly against Como on Sunday. Liverpool faced Cesc Fabregas’ side in a double-header to close out preseason, with the first of those encounters played behind closed doors. Andoni Iraola saved the majority of his first-team stars for the second game at Anfield. Alexis Mac Allister and Victor Munoz both started, having reported back for training late after reaching the World Cup final, while the likes of Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa also featured. Jones was among those not included for the first friendly, but LFCTV’s cameras did spot him watching on during the first half alongside Dominik Szoboszlai. Not only is that a positive sign of Jones’ allegiance to Liverpool amid the ongoing speculation over his future, but it’s further evidence that there are no hard feelings between him and Szoboszlai after their heated exchange during the tour of the US. Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign. Jones will be expected to be among the players involved in the second friendly against Como at Anfield later on Sunday, although what his future holds beyond that is still unclear. Iraola though has indicated he doesn’t want him going anywhere. "For me, he is a great, great player, and I hope he can continue with us and continue performing the way he has been performing,” Iraola said about Jones last month. "It's very important that he's Scouse, that he's from here. I also like the personality. "From the outside, at least, he looks like a player with good character, and I hope we can keep him, not only for this year but for more time."
