Just a few days before the start of pre-season training, VfL Wolfsburg have announced another new signing: Lieske Carleer has joined the She-Wolves from FC Twente. The 25-year-old defender has signed a contract with the Green-and-Whites until 30 June 2029. Her previous deal with the six-time Dutch champions, which had been due to run until 2027, has been terminated. Carleer, who will wear the No. 3 shirt at VfL, is the club’s fifth new signing following the arrivals of Giovanna Hoffmann, Katharina Piljic, Cecilie Floe Nielsen and Ylvi Eisenbeiß. The defensive specialist, who is primarily deployed as a centre-back, has been with FC Twente since the beginning of 2024 and made 12 appearances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League during that time.
