Chelsea ensured we will head into the new campaign on the back of a win after triumphing 3-1 over Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Xabi Alonso took charge of his first home game as Chelsea manager. Our summer signings were introduced to the supporters while getting their first taste of Stamford Bridge - with one of them opening the scoring. Joao Pedro continued his brilliant pre-season form. And the Blues got a comfortable victory. Not a bad day's work as pre-season concluded in west London. Morgan Rogers was the new name on the score sheet for Chelsea as he put us into an early lead, turning in the rebound when Joao Pedro's header was saved. Real Sociedad levelled, but after the break our Brazilian striker showed the lethal form in front of goal which was seen during our tour of Asia and Australia earlier this summer. He restored our lead two minutes into the second half when he headed in Reece James' cross, before extending it to 3-1 with a confident and composed finish past the keeper one-on-one. With a win under our belt, Joao Pedro in the goals again, our World Cup stars back in Blue and Maxence Lacroix, Rogers and Pep Chavarria making their first appearances for Chelsea, things are looking promising with one week to go until the start of the Premier League campaign.
