PSV has reached an agreement with FC Twente regarding the transfer of Joël Drommel. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has signed a four-season contract in Enschede. Five years ago, Drommel took the opposite path when he moved from FC Twente to PSV. In Eindhoven, the Bussum native played in 66 official matches. Last season, Drommel played for Sparta Rotterdam on loan. There, he impressed with, among other things, eleven clean sheets. “I look back on an unforgettable period in the service of PSV,” says Drommel. “Together, we’ve enjoyed many successes, including winning national titles, KNVB Cups, and Johan Cruijff Shields. I’ve always had a great relationship with both the people within the club and the fans. I want to thank everyone for the trust and appreciation I’ve felt from day one. PSV will always hold a special place in my heart. I wish the club every success, and I’m sure we’ll see each other again at the Philips Stadium.” Director of Football Operations Earnest Stewart praises the character of the experienced goalkeeper: “Throughout his time at PSV, Joël has always conducted himself as a true professional. At various stages of his time with the club, he has always put the team’s interests first and given his all for PSV. With his positive attitude and reliability, he was a valued asset within the squad. We thank Joël for his contribution to our successes and wish him the best of luck and success at FC Twente.”
