West Ham United stance on Troy Parrott revealed after Joel Piroe transfer latest West Ham United have been linked with Troy Parrott and Joel Piroe this summer. The Hammers are clearly on the hunt for new forward options ready for the Championship season. Nuno Espirito Santo's side might be the favourites for the division crown, but still need significant strengthening. That has seen Manor Solomon come in to bolster the attacking area. The Irons don't appear to be done there as a new striker looks to be on the agenda too. Piroe now looks set to sign for the East London club, while a move for Parrott hangs in the balance. How does West Ham signing Joel Piroe impact Troy Parrott? The Republic of Ireland international has been viewed by many as the dream signing in E20. He is coming off the back of a terrific season with AZ and is deserving of a big-money move. The London Stadium appeared to be a potential landing destination for a potential Championship record fee. A report from Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof on Sunday has suggested that a move to West Ham is now off for Parrott. An agreement couldn't be reached with AZ and that has sparked the Irons to move for new options. Piroe is that man in East London as a move from Leeds United could soon go through. Why Piroe is a better signing than Parrott for West Ham Frustration has already emerged from the claret and blue faithful for signing Piroe instead of Parrott. That is being done out of emotion rather than logic as the Dutchman makes much more sense as a signing for the here and now. Piroe has been clinical in the Championship across many years having scored 73 and assisted 18 in his 179 appearances. That sort of expertise in the second tier is something that West Ham certainly need right now. Parrott wouldn't provide that, even if he has been superb in the Netherlands. The Irishman has made 43 career appearances in the Championship and found the net just three times. That isn't bettered elsewhere in the EFL as he only scored 10 in 59 League One appearances previously. Parrott may be a better option for further down the line, but Piroe is the smart signing in the present day.
