Jayden Joseph says there's more to come from Leicester City in the weeks ahead after their 1-1 draw at Notts County on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes opened their League One campaign in frustrating fashion at Meadow Lane, as the newly-promoted side held them to a point. Joseph marked his first league start for the club with a goal in the second half, but County pegged them back late on.
Leicester were fortunate not to lose the game, with the home side missing a number of big chances. Russell Martin's men did, though, have their own opportunities, with Bobby De Cordova-Reid coming close on three occasions.
Joseph, who joined Will Alves and Sammy Braybrooke in impressing in Nottingham, has told supporters that they will get better as the season goes on. "Obviously it's the first game of the season, we're getting into it," he said.
"I know it's not an excuse, but I feel like we just need to keep working on it as a group."
He added: "Everyone wants to win so it's disappointing not holding onto the lead, it's just one of them things.
"The overall game, this is not our finished product. The fans and everyone will see a lot more from us in the upcoming weeks."
The defender's impressive individual display was capped by him scoring City's first goal of the new season. Joseph smashed the ball past James Belshaw from Braybrooke's cut-back just moments after seeing his effort blocked from outside the box.
"I saw Sammy on the edge of the box and the gap, so I thought, why not? And it paid off," he explained. "I trust myself and when the opportunity arises, I'm going to take it and that's what I tried to do today."
