West Ham are upping efforts to sign a striker with Troy Parrott the priority although another option has emerged, it’s been reported by ExWHUEmployee. Following the signing of Arne Engels in a Championship record £22m deal, attention is now fully shifting to bringing in a new forward, with a new move to agree a deal Parrott anticipated. However, in a somewhat twist to the move, our insider Ex has reported on The West Ham Way Patreon that Joel Piroe of Leeds has emerged as a very credible alternative. “West Ham are exploring the option of Leeds forward Joël Piroe as a possible target,” stated our insider. “The Dutch forward is thought to be available and the club are looking at both a possible loan or permanent transfer. “At the moment Troy Parrott remains the top forward target and talks will continue next week but Piroe could be an alternative target. “I believe the club will try one more time to get a fee agreed with Parrott but if they can’t then a deal with Leeds will be explored further for a possible loan with obligation. “The player is out of contract in the summer of 2027, although Leeds can exercise a clause to extend for a year to 2028. “As we revealed last week Jamie Vardy is a back up target too. At the moment the main priority forward target is Parrott and the club remain hopeful of getting a deal done for the Irish international. “We anticipate that we will have further clarity on this very soon and will update.”
