Hughie Fury Delivers Honest Verdict On Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: "He Needs Another Fight" - Seconds Out

Hughie Fury has given his view on the upcoming showdown between his cousin Tyson and Anthony Joshua. This fight has been brewing for more than a decade, with both Brits making their own way through the global heavyweight scene. They each got all the way to the top, with Joshua becoming a unified champion not once but twice after he lost to Andy Ruiz Jr but avenged that defeat and got his belts back in the rematch. Fury’s career has been defined by a superb away win in Germany to beat Wladimir Klitschko and become world champion for the first time, then after time away from the sport he returned for an epic trilogy with Deontay Wilder which saw him become the WBC ruler. Both men are now in their late 30s and have since lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk and are left with no belts and nowhere else to go but the ring for one legacy-defining contest later this year. Speaking to Boxing King Media, Hughie Fury suggests that Joshua needs another warm-up after being down early against Kristian Prenga last time out, only to win by KO in round two. “I think it’s dangerous. I think Joshua needs another fight to be honest with you, he needs another warm-up fight, but at the end of the day it’s got to happen now or never, hasn’t it. It’s been a long time coming. Get in there and have a go, simple.” Fury has fought twice this year after taking all of 2025 off. He beat Arslanbek Makhmudov on points, and then Mariusz Wach was forced to retire. All roads now lead to a likely November battle, with New York currently the frontrunner to host the fight despite protests from British fans who want to see the contest take place in the UK.
