The Moroccan proved his quality on the grandest stage of them all last season, scoring in the Champions League against the likes of Liverpool and Napoli. Despite this, over the course of the season he struggled for minutes - something he’d like to rectify for the upcoming campaign. Driouech ‘open’ to Rangers move According to Voetbal International: “Sources tell VI that PSV and Rangers are now formally negotiating a transfer. Both clubs intend to reach an agreement. Driouech himself is also open to a move to Scotland, where a long-term contract awaits him. Incidentally, Red Bull Salzburg also inquired about Driouech. For the time being, however, Rangers have taken the lead in the race for the services of the lightning-fast midfielder.” Despite playing for Morocco at youth international level, Driouech was born in Netherlands and has never left the country of his birth. The winger came through the ranks at Heerenveen before making his name at Excelsior. After helping them reach promotion to the Eredivisie and ensuring top flight safety in the subsequent years, he moved to PSV in July 2024. Minutes frustrations leave Ibrox door open The right-footed wide man - who prefers to cut in from the left - wasn’t happy with his minutes at the Philips Stadion last season. Despite making 29 top flight appearances for the Red and Whites, 24 of these came from the bench. In an interview last month, he expressed his frustrations. He said via the Daily Record: "I had many highlights last season, especially in the Champions League, but to be honest, I expected more from the season. "I would have liked to have played more often. I do think I deserved more games and to have had more appreciation. Three goals and two assists in six Champions League matches is not normal. For example, I scored twice against Liverpool, but then I didn't play against FC Volendam a few days later. That really hit me hard. After that, I played again against Atletico Madrid. I think I did well then, but after that I was back on the sidelines.”
