Couhaib Driouech makes Rangers transfer stance clear with two winger deals in jeopardy
Derek McInnes is looking for more recruits in wide areas with the PSV star on the agenda
PSV winger Couhaib Driouech is reportedly "open" to joining Rangers as Ibrox chiefs prepare another bid.
Record Sport revealed on Wednesday that an opening bid from the Glasgow giants was turfed out by the Eredivise champions. But it’s anticipated PSV’s £6m valuation will be met as Derek McInnes ramps up his summer recruitment drive.
The 24-year-old has been on a list of wingers Rangers have been monitoring over previous seasons - but they face a battle for a deal with Danny Rohl's RB Salzburg also keen on the 24-year-old.
Voetbal International report the forward is "open to a move to Scotland, where a long-term contract awaits him".
It is claimed that Driouech's preference is for a switch to Scotland over Austria, and Rangers are now "leading the race" for his signature.
On Wednesday, Rangers brought in Japan winger Daisuke Yokota from Hannover, and have also been keeping tabs on Brighton talent Amario Cozier-Duberry.
Official discussions have begun over a potential deal for the 21-year-old. The Premier League club booted out a £5million bid from Anderlecht.
The Argus report that boss Fabian Hurzeler is considering his attacking options after giving the attacker a chance in pre-season, and following the exit of Danny Welbeck looks unlikely to make any imminent decisions.
The window to sign Jahnoah Markelo from Coventry City also appears to be closing.
Rangers showed an interest in attacker Markelo last year, prior to his €5m move from FC Zurich to the Sky Blues in January
However, he could leave following their Premier League return having made just five appearances for the club after the switch with boss Frank Lampard reportedly ready to green light a loan exit to aid the player's development.
Reports south of the border claim that Al-Ahly are pushing for a deal, with the Coventry Telegraph noting there is still "strong interest" from Rangers in Markelo.
