A Celtic star who was involved in the Hoops’ pre-season is set to leave the club on loan. Having spent last season on loan with Scott Brown at Ayr United, former Celtic B captain Kyle Ure is set to head to England on loan. The move is set to happen with the midfielder in the last year of his Celtic Park deal. He had signed a two-year contract last summer, but that will come to an end at the end of this season. Having featured in pre-season, this summer felt like make-or-break for the holding midfielder. But going on loan in the last year of his deal does normally spell the end for a youngster at Celtic, unless an extension is penned before a deal goes through. Still just 20, he made 19 appearances at Somerset Park in a campaign disrupted by a hamstring injury in the new year that sidelined him for over three months. With another exit sanctioned, he’ll be hoping to have another good season, without injuries, at English League Two club Crewe Alexandra. According to the Celtic Way, he is expected to seal a season-long loan deal. There’s a player there for sure; he’s looked the part while featuring for Celtic. Hopefully some more senior minutes are what he needs.
