Blackpool boss Ian Evatt was happy to see one of his newest recruits have an instant impact, and believes a degree of persistence has paid off for both parties. “I’m so pleased for him because we’ve shared a bit of a journey,” he said. “We were due to sign him and he picked up an ankle injury with Middlesborough so we had to be patient and wait for him to recover from that before we could make the move happen. “Fin was really down, and I was really down because I know what he can do, but we stayed in touch. I said to him: ‘Stay positive, your time will come.’ “It’s really good for him after the adversity he’s been through to come out and score on his home debut - it’s very pleasing.”
