Manchester United lost to AC Milan in their final game of pre-season on Saturday as Michael Carrick's side completed their pre-season schedule. Carrick was without a number of first-team stars due to injury and there was a slight concern against Milan when Matheus Cunha went down and had to receive treatment from the medical team. The knock didn't look anything serious and he was fine to carry on, suggesting his name won't be added to United's injury list ahead of next week's opener against Hull City. United are guaranteed to be without a couple of long-term absentees against Hull next week. Here's the latest on the injury front: Matheus Cunha Injury: Knock Cunha received treatment from the medical team on Saturday but he was fine to carry on before being replaced just after the hour mark and showed no ill-effects of the knock and so should be fine to feature against Hull. Possible return date: Hull, August 22 Matthijs de Ligt Injury: Back De Ligt hasn't featured for United since November and is recovering from back surgery. He is back training on grass and travelled to the Republic of Ireland to be part of the training camp this week but there has been no word on when he could possibly return to action. Possible return date: Unknown Tom Heaton Injury: Hamstring As revealed in Notebook this week, Heaton will find out the extent of the injury he picked up against PSG in Gothenburg next weekend, but he is set to face at least a few weeks on the sidelines. The injury looked innocuous at the time, and there was no great concern when Heaton came to be replaced by Dermot Mee in that game, but it has proved to be a more serious issue than first suspected. Possible return date: Everton, September 6 Mason Mount Injury: Foot Everyone feared the worst when Mount walked off less than 20 minutes into United's clash with PSG, but fears were alleviated when he was seen walking away from the stadium with no sign of a limp. However, since then he has missed the friendlies with Leeds and AC Milan. Given he has now missed United's final two friendlies of the summer he is unlikely to be in the starting XI against Hull next week, but it's hoped he could make the squad. Notebook wrote earlier this summer that the plan was for him to take part in one of United's friendlies towards the end of the pre-season schedule, but his absence from the squad vs Milan means that target was missed. Bryan Mbeumo is nailed on to start against Hull next week given Sesko has gone so long without playing, and it's difficult to even see the Slovenian striker making the squad. Perhaps inclusion in the squad vs Ipswich the following week is the best he can hope for.
