MARTIN O’NEILL watched Celtic notch up their ninth goal in two difficult away fixtures as his team overcame Dundee United 4-0 in the Premier Sports League Cup at Tannadice. The game came just six days after the champions’ 5-1 romp against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in which record signing Kasper Hogh hammered in a first-half hat-trick in his second game. The Dane fired blanks on Tayside as Auston Trusty, Camilo Duran, Sebastian Tounekti and Benjamin Nygren, netting in his third successive outing, took over the goalscoring duties. Reflecting on what he had just witnessed, O’Neill admitted there were still signs for concern – not least the fact the hosts hit Hoops’ woodwork on FIVE occasions. The Irishman said: “In good spells we were terrific and we played some really lovely football, too. But, overall, there were moments in the game. “Dundee United hit the post before we scored. And there were warning signs there for us at different stages. “I know that it sounds as if it’s been really emphatic, but I thought that there were moments that we definitely can improve on. “We dealt with it one way or the other and some of the defensive play was good. “Other times that we were slow out to it, allowing them to have shots in and around the penalty area.” O’Neill, speaking to CelticPlayer, added: “Overall, though, I’ve got to be pleased with a win. “Domestically, it’s been really good. “Now, we need to get our minds focused now for Wednesday night.” The Hoops gaffer will have to prepare for the first leg of their Champions League qualifier against the Austrians of LASK without the midfield services of Arne Engels who has completed his £22million move to West Ham.
