Andrea Belotti had been ready to sign on for Cagliari as a free agent after his contract expired, but the former Roma and Torino striker failed a medical. The 32-year-old’s experience in Sardinia was short-lived and unlucky, as he joined them for free in September 2025 on a one-year contract. Within weeks of putting pen to paper, he suffered a serious knee injury with the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. It kept the centre-forward out for most of the season, returning in April 2026 for a handful of substitute appearances.
