Trabzonspor summer signing Metehan Mimaroğlu has praised Nigeria international Paul Onuachu’s presence in the penalty area, describing the striker as a major advantage for the Turkish club. Mimaroğlu provided his first assist for Trabzonspor as they opened their Trendyol Süper Lig campaign with a 1-1 draw against Kasımpaşa on Saturday. The former Gençlerbirliği player delivered a cross that was converted by Noah Saviolo as Trabzonspor took the lead shortly before half-time. Kasımpaşa later equalised through Adrian Benedyczak’s penalty to ensure the points were shared. Following the match, Mimaroğlu reflected on his assist and explained the importance of having Onuachu occupying the penalty area. The Trabzonspor midfielder said he had already made his preference clear to his teammates before the game, while also revealing that head coach Fatih Tekke shares the same view. “I said it in the locker room before the match, I always want Paul to be there. Our coach says the same thing,” he said as quoted by Gunebakis. The new signing then highlighted the threat Onuachu provides when he is positioned inside the box, stressing that his presence can create opportunities for other Trabzonspor players. “As long as Paul is in the penalty area, it's a big advantage for us.
