The Greek Super League outfit had a poor 2025/26 campaign, and are looking to revamp their squad for the upcoming season. It’s being reported via Daily Record that the Athens based side could offer Hatate a bumper pay increase to join in this transfer window. Panathinaikos isn’t the only club interested in Celtic’s Japanese playmaker, with other European clubs and teams in the Middle East also keen on signing the former Kawasaki Frontale man. Despite having just signed Miko Baur, Celtic have just sold Arne Engels to West Ham for a fee believed to be worth £25 million, so will need at least another one midfielder in, possibly two when Reo departs.
